Foxconn vs. Oliver Twist

Foxconn the company that dominates its workers with grueling hours and hard labor, is a company that doesn't think of how they are affecting others, they are only thinking about themselves and how much money they can make.
Foxconn jobs attract a lot of poor people, because they need a job and Foxconn lies to them and tells them that they will give them all these benefits but they are just lieng to them.

The workhouse in Oliver Twist is a lot like Foxconn, because they have a lot of poor people (orphans) working for them and they treat them like dirt and make them do things that are to hard for them. If the orphans don't do what is expected they get beat, just like in Foxconn if the workers don't meet expectation they have "consequences."

The two are alike in many ways, they both have poor workers, they both treat their workers bad, and they both are menacing in the way they run their operations.

Foxconn (Persuasive)

The company Foxconn (the makers of almost every popular electronic device produced to the world) is a very big company who pretty much has the power to do what they want.
 The first thing they do morally wrong is that they lie to their employees on what they will be doing and what they will be paid just so the people will work for them.
What Foxconn does to people and how they are running things is not morally right, but I think Foxconn should not be stopped, because the price of the iPad/iPhone/iPod etc. is already high enough that we should be thankful for the people who make them.
If the employees of Foxconn don't want to endure the misfortune of the job than they should not work for Foxconn.
I do though feel sorry for the workers because I wouldn't want to have to work so many hours or be forced to do things that are to hard for me, because it isn't right for someone to have to work for so many hours without a break. But if you don't want the consequences of the job don't join Foxconn.

Conflict and Its effects on Oliver Twist

Conflict makes the story, without conflict there is no point in reading. Conflict is the part of the story that makes characters mad, sad, scared, or happy. Conflict is the good or bad things in the story to make the character experience difficulty or easiness in life. Conflict in Oliver Twist makes the story more interesting and makes you want to know what is going to happen to Oliver Twist next.

One example of a man vs. society conflict in Oliver Twist is when Oliver gets treated bad by everyone at the workhouse because he is a poor orphan. Everyone at the workhouse treated Oliver bad and made him believe he was nothing. They beat him and starved him and didn't let him be a kid. They wanted Oliver dead.

An example of man vs. nature conflict in Oliver Twist is when Oliver is on his way to London after escaping the treturous rath of Mr. Sowerberry and his companions. He was tired and weak from walking so far in the cold winter, and he was already beaten so it made the walk even harder for him to endure. He barely made it.

Sparknotes or Read the Book for Oliver Twist?

I am analyzing if sparknotes is just as good, worse, or better than reading the actual book. Sparknotes has just the summary of each chapter, as reading the book gives you each intricate detail.

Sparknotes can be somewhat similar to reading the actual book, it just depends on how much detail is put in on it. Sparknotes gives the main ideas of each paragraph, like sending Oliver with Mr. Sowerberry, but Sparknotes doesn't explain about Mr. Sowerberry, they just say he is an Undertaker. Some information is left out in Sparknotes, but sometimes the information is good enough to read it at a Scholarly level.

I think that Sparknotes is sometimes better than the actual book, because it takes less time to read, and it gives the main ideas. In Oliver Twist though, the Sparknotes version doesn't give as many details as needed. It is well written in spaknotes, but it looks weird, because all of the ads get in the way and makes it annoying. Other than the ads and the left out details, Spaknotes is pretty reliable.

Sparknotes is useful when you forget to read, or you have a big test and you want to go over the chapters you don't remember. It is useful to give you the main information about a book, but it will leave out some of the little detail that you may need for a less important question. Sparknotes is actually very helpful at times though. So if you are out of time and need to know about a book use Sparknotes.

Victorian Era

I'm going to be blogging about themes of the victorian era. The victorian area was a time of great improvement and great oppurtunities.

The Great Stink was a problem of the sewage systems not working and the whole city smelled of the sewage. So the city council assigned a man to build new sewage system that would take away the stink and get the sewage away from the water. This was great IMPROVEMENT.

The TECHNOLOGY of the Victorian Era improved a ton from before. The people started to invent things that would help out in labor and that would make labor way faster and easier.

The ADVANCEMENT of the building was very superior to the building before the Victorian Era. The buildings became massive and they were very detailed and intricate. They were very appealing to look at and made the city look like a new place.

Rules to make Poor and Rich equal

To make the poor and rich equal, the following rules will need to be enforced: rule one, every job will pay the same amount of money. Rule two, not all houses are the same, it is up to the people on how much money they spend on certain things. Rule three,  there are no groups the people are equal with money. And the final rule four, everyone has equal oppurtunities on education. Those rules would help everyone become more equal.

South Pole Trip

If I were to go to the South Pole, I would take my girlfriend Kayla. I would take her, because she is my girlfriend and it would be an amazing experience to go see the South Pole. All the snow there is beautiful. My girlfriend also loves the cold weather, so she would really like to go to the South Pole. I am not a big fan of cold weather, but going and seeing all the snow and ice everywhere would be really cool. It would be freezing. Another reason I would take my girlfriend is because going to the South Pole with no civilization around, would be kind of romantic in some way. Going to the South Pole would be great. Especially staying the night there, It would be fun, but very cold. Playing in the snow and seeing all of the beautiful scenery would make everything amazing.
